My story

Hi there! I'm Elliot, a sweet and friendly beagle who survived an extreme cruelty case. Until recently, I was living in a hoarding situation with a backyard breeder-- I was kept in a small enclosure with many other beagles. I was so scared and confused; I didn't understand why no one seemed to notice me. Luckily, I'm safe now at Beagle Freedom Project's sanctuary and ready to start a new chapter-- but, I'm a more low-key and gentle guy, so having a ruff start to life really broke my heart. I have so much love to give, but really need the right family to help me learn that it's okay to trust people, and that I'll never be hurt again. I do well with affectionate and kind humans, despite being shy, and I love other dogs. Now that I've been rescued from my challenging past, I'm dreaming of an adopter who will give me lots of snuggles, patience, and love. I've never gotten to be a normal dog before, so I'm really excited to get treats, ear scratches, and a cozy bed for the very first time. Everyone says that I will blossom into a confident and joyous pup in a loving home, and I promise to be the most loyal companion ever for my family.
