Name, age, breed: Milton, 1 year, Hound Likes: Milton really loves treats and responds well to gentle encouragement using tasty rewards.Dislikes: Loud noises What would be the ideal home? Milton feels most at ease in calm, quiet environments with a consistent routine where he can move at his own pace. Milton is more comfortable when he`s around calm, friendly dogs who can help him feel secure and model confident behavior. He prefers peaceful spaces and appreciates having a safe, quiet spot to retreat to when he’s feeling overwhelmed. Loud noises and busy environments can be very stressful for Milton, so he is not suited for apartment living. He does best in a calm home where he can feel safe and gradually come out of his shell.Good with other cats? May possibly live with a cat, with proper introduction Good with dogs? May possibly live with a dog, with proper introduction Good with children? No restrictions but prefers quiet home Temperament: Shy, gentle, sensitive, and cautious. He’s a nervous but sweet-natured dog who approaches the world carefully and prefers to observe from a distance before getting involved. Milton isn’t reactive or aggressive. Instead, he freezes or retreats when he feels unsure. He’s submissive and quiet, and while he lacks confidence right now, he shows a desire to connect, especially with calm encouragement and positive experiences.Motivators? Treats! Any commands? UnknownHouse trained? UnknownCrate trained? Unknown How long will it take to settle into a new environment? 3-3-3 rule: First 3 days - Your dog may be over-whelmed and may hide, have a lack of appetite, or test boundaries. Give them space and time to adjust in a quiet room with their bed, food, water, and toys. 3 weeks - Your dog may start to settle in and their personality will emerge. You can expect behavior issues to arise, so set boundaries and expectations with positive reinforcement training. 3 months - Your dog should be comfortable and acclimated to your home. They should know their routine and expect meals and enrichment at specific times.Any special needs or traits an adopter should know?
