My story

This sweet quiet guy Newton was saved from an overcrowded SC shelter. For a small-breed dog, he is pretty low-key and calm overall. He is comfortable in a pack of dogs of all sizes but also perfectly happy to spend time in someone’s lap. He is trained to spend time in a crate and not noisy or destructive. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped. We have plenty more photos and videos of this sweetie to share with anyone who is interested! Note: About the adoption fee - to date, we have invested over $800 in Newton between transport up north, treatment of and medication for the eye and ear infection he arrived with, neuter, chip, etc. Since we are primarily a rescue that saves the harder-to-place large breeds dogs listed for euthanasia at high kill southern shelters, we currently have apx. 200 pets in the rescue and are in financial crisis, struggling to support them all. Therefore, it is critically important that we recoup the funds spent on their care with a little left over to use towards the expenses of the others in our care.
