My story

Hi... I’m Kenzo 👋 I might not run up to you right away. In fact, I’ll probably hang back and watch from a safe distance. I want to come closer—really, I do. I just… don’t know how yet. I’m about 3 years old, a long-haired chihuahua mix, and around 12 pounds. People say I’m sweet, and I guess that’s true—but I’m also scared. I’ve been through some things, and I’m still learning that not everyone will hurt me. Sometimes I feel like maybe I’m not even deserving of love—but deep down, I hope I am. What I need is someone patient. Someone who sees me and says, "Take all the time you need." I promise, I want to be brave. I want to curl up next to you, to feel safe, to love and be loved. Other dogs make me happy—I loosen up with them, play a little, feel less alone. They help me remember that life can be good. That I can trust again. So if you’ve got a soft voice, a gentle heart, and some room in your life for a little guy like me, I’m here. Waiting. Hoping. Maybe you’re my person.
