My story

Meet Maxine! This fluffy ray of sunshine is Maxine, a resilient and lovable Chow Chow mix who’s been through more than her fair share. After being hit by a car, she ended up at a high-kill shelter in Southern California where she was heartbreakingly close to being euthanized. But Maxine wasn’t ready to give up—and neither were we. Now safe and healing, Maxine is showing the world just how much love and joy she has to give. She’s fun, affectionate, and always ready to flash her signature smile. While she may be a little wary at first, it only takes a moment for her to warm up—and once she does, her silly, charming personality shines through. Maxine is a total people lover and gets along well with other dogs—as long as they’re okay with her being the boss. She’s playful, spunky, and will keep you laughing with her expressive face and quirky antics. Maxine is proof that second chances can lead to the happiest stories.
