My story

Meet Raya, a gentle and affectionate 2-year-old Shepherd mix who’s ready for a fresh start. She was found as a stray in Miami-Dade County and brought to Big Dog Ranch, where she’s now looking for a patient, loving home to call her own. Raya has a moderate energy level—she enjoys playtime with her toys and other dogs but also appreciates quiet moments and cozy cuddles. Though she may be a little shy at first, once she warms up, she loves being close and sharing affection. She’s good with other dogs and already knows some basic commands, but she’s still working on a few important skills like house training, potty training, and leash walking. With consistency and guidance from an experienced dog owner, she’ll continue to grow in confidence. Because of her more timid personality, Raya would do best in a calm home with older children who can respect her space and help her feel safe as she settles in.
