My story

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this. Harper is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with her current owner in NYC, NY. Adoption fee applies. Harper is a beautiful, 5 year old, elegant calico purebred Oriental Shorthair. She lives in New York City with her owners who have reached out to Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue in hopes of finding a perfect home for this exquisite girl. Harper's younger kitty mate, also an Oriental Shorthair, has recently been diagnosed with cancer. Harper is acting out against her. After more than 6 months of trying to resolve this issue, they have made the difficult decision to re-home Harper so they may better manage the care needed and provide a quiet peaceful environment to do so. Their small NY apartment doesn't provide enough space to keep these two Oriental Shorthairs separated. They are in hopes of finding Harper another Oriental Shorthair breed lover that will provide her with a loving attentive home. Harper was introduced as the second cat in the household, is 4 months older, smarter, very active and a great companion kitty. She is an intelligent, interactive cat that relates well to the man of the house. She will sleep with you, watch videos and enjoys watching birds on You Tube TV and from their apartment windows. She is a super sweet calico girl that loves to play with "Sammy the string".. loves her people, eats biome kibble food, loves churros and cat treats. She does not like 'people food". Harper uses a litter robot or any litter box. We think she would do best in a home where someone is there most of the time. She will also do fine as an only cat in a stimulating environment with plenty activities and attention. She may do well with another kitty that is healthy, close to her age, energy level, intelligence and confidence. We expect she would dominate a shy, docile or insecure cat. Pairing her with another cat is open to discussion. We don't know how she would do with a dog or small children. Cat experienced, respectful older children responsible enough to be sure Harper would not escape outdoors may be considered. An east coast adopter would be ideal for Harper. We do not facilitate transport, so this would need to be discussed between potential adopters and Harper's owners. Harper is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. She currently lives with her owner in NYC, NY. This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!
