My story

Meet Sunnie — a spunky little doll face with a shy side and a heart that’s just starting to bloom. Sunnie is estimated to be around 2 years old, and she joined the Freedom Squad from Hesperia Shelter alongside Moonie and Monty. While Sunnie and Moonie both arrived with C-section stitches that had been left in far too long (the skin was starting to grow around them!), our founder Mo and her son gently removed them the day they arrived. Thankfully, Sunnie is healing up beautifully and is showing no signs of major medical issues. Sunnie Fun: This petite, bunny-hopping beauty is mostly potty trained — just a few accidents here and there, which we’re chalking up to her diet transition and big life changes. She’s also learning how to use the doggie door, and once she figures out her forever home, we’re confident she’ll master it in no time. Especially since Sunnie’s favorite place is wherever her person is. She’s a total shadow-in-training. At first glance, Sunnie might seem timid. She hesitates to join in on the chaos of playtime and tends to cower when picked up — but don’t let that fool you. Her inner spunk is surfacing more and more each day. When her foster mom walks through the door, Sunnie does the most adorable excited bunny hop, and you can see her sweet spirit peeking out more and more. Home Life: She’ll need a patient family who understands she’s been through some things, but once you earn her trust, she’s ALL IN. She loves to eat, is a big fan of snacks, and is putting on weight slowly but surely. She does show a bit of resource guarding with food, so she’s currently fed in her crate (like several others in her foster home, for safety) just to keep the peace — and it works great for her. Sunnie is the perfect mix of gentle, curious, and goofy. She just needs a soft place to land and a family who sees her potential. If you’re looking for a quiet girl with a sparkle in her eye and a slow-burning love story — she’s waiting. Let her bring some light to your life. Final Note: Sunnie is spay, vaccinated and microchipped, her adoption donation fee is $1050.00. You can apply for Sunnie on our website freedomfrenchierescue.org, the adoption process is on there as well!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sunnie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
