My story

Need a land hippo in your life? Baldwin is ready to report for duty! This 2-year-old boisterous boy is looking for a forever home. He is a big guy with an equally big ole head, but that`s necessary to hold his enormous grin. It`s sure to put a smile on your face too. Even his perky ears seem to be happy. He loves playing with toys. He can get jumpy when excited and be a puller at times on walks, and at his size that may mean he would do best in a home without small kids that he could accidentally knock over. On a recent Dog Day Out we learned more about him `He is about 2 years old, but I can tell he is a bit of an old soul with how easily initial excitement settles. We walked around the Lakeside Nature Center where he took in all the sniffs and enjoyed the sunshine. Baldwin only pulled a few times, but redirected easily. He loved to stand on tables and sit on the benches next to me! Baldwin sits for treats and takes them gently. He also did great in my car! He hopped in with no coaxing & was a pretty calm passenger.`Like all our adult dogs, Baldwin will need to meet future canine companions before going home. Our shelter staff will lead their introductions in a safe environment to see if they are compatible. At the main campus, you can bring your dog along when you come for adoptions if you like. Baldwin is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home!His ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
