My story

Fonzie is a handsome small red Chihuahua mix. Fonzie was overwhelmed when he first came into rescue but eventually his playful side came out. Fonzie gets along with all dogs and is interactive with the volunteer staff. Fonzie came to us as a stray so we don't have any background information however he appears to be adaptive, youthful, playful and engaging. But like all dogs, Fonzie will be the happiest when he finally has a family to call his own! Fonzie does need a bit of time to warm up and trust someone. He can be nippy about some things until he develops trust with his person. We welcome a trial with him prior to adoption if it will help get him a home. Like many of our rescue dogs, we are not sure how well housetrained Fonzie is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise she should be easy to train. Fonzie's adoption fee is $175 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.
