Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could he do well with kids? He would do well in a home with no children.Could he do well with other dogs? No, we believe he would do best as the only dog in the home.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---What volunteers have to say about this animal: Buddy has lived at the Lycoming County SPCA for over four years. That’s over 1,400 days of daily walks, volunteer cuddles, field trips—and waiting. And through it all, this 6-year-old terrier mix has never stopped smiling his goofy, golden-eyed grin.Who is Buddy?Buddy is playful, adventurous, deeply loyal, and endlessly endearing. He’s got a signature snaggletooth smile, a love of car rides, and a thing for plush stuffed animals. He zooms around our play yard, then melts into his blanket for a nap. His favorite things include:- Car rides & field trips- Frozen Kongs & plush toys- Bum scratches & ear rubs- Long walks & short hikesHe’s truly one of a kind—and after so long in the shelter, he’s ready to be someone’s one and only.Buddy Needs a Home That Offers:- No other pets or young children- Consistency and patience as he relearns life in a home- A calm environment with structure and love- Regular activity—walks, toys, and gentle adventureBuddy still needs help with a few manners (he sometimes mouths or guards toys), but he’s a smart boy and a quick study. What he really needs is a comfy bed and a human who will give him their full heart—and maybe a few frozen Kongs.---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Buddy needs a little help with manners, but with a dedicated family, he’ll be a quick learner! He tends to mouth you when he`s excited or when he`s determined, at other times when he doesn’t know what to do he will try to mount; he needs consistency and routine for his basic cues to stick. He loves toys, but he is still working on allowing others to take the toys from him, you will have to trade him something of higher value at these times. Buddy has also found that a long walk or hike suits him just fine. If you are looking for a playful, adventurous companion, Buddy may be the right fit for you!---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to
